Quality Events: Deviation, CAPA & Change Control

The three quality workflows every regulated plant needs — structured, routed, and audit-ready.

01

Why Quality Events Matter for Innovation

The moment a process runs in a plant, quality events become unavoidable: a deviation from the expected result, a corrective/preventive action to close it, a change that must be controlled and approved before it takes effect. In a GMP-ish or ISO environment these are not optional paperwork — they are the mechanism by which a manufacturing operation stays defensible.

Run on email and spreadsheets, quality events are slow, untraceable, and audit-hostile. A deviation raised verbally never gets a CAPA; a change made informally has no approval trail; an auditor's request for the record becomes a scramble. The gap between 'we handled it' and 'we can prove we handled it' is where compliance risk lives.

Structured deviation, CAPA, and change-control registers — routed through a real approval workflow with a complete audit trail — turn quality events from liability into evidence.

02

How Athena Optimizes Quality Events

Athena provides structured, workflow-driven registers for Deviations (with embedded CAPA actions) and Change Controls. Each is a first-class record with its own sequence code, routed through the same approval engine that gates every other entity — so review and sign-off are enforced, timestamped, and attributed.

Because they share the generic audit and versioning layer, every edit and each transition is captured — the integrity trail an inspection requires. Events can be raised standalone (plant-wide) or linked to a project or batch, and approver routing resolves to the right roles automatically (e.g. QA) whether or not a project is attached.

The result is a defensible quality system built on the same engine as the rest of the platform — no separate QMS to integrate, no second source of truth.

03

What You Get

Structured Deviation register with embedded CAPA actions
Change Control register with controlled, approved changes
Workflow-driven review & sign-off via the shared approval engine
Full audit trail and versioning on every event and transition
Standalone or linked to a project/batch, with automatic approver routing
Sequence-coded records for traceability
04

How It Connects

Quality Events reuse the Workflow Engine and the audit/versioning layer, link optionally to Projects and Batches, and sit alongside the Risk Register and Stability studies in the quality picture.
